Ladies and Gentlemen,
Respected CAMLCOs, distinguished guests, regulators, and members of the insurance community,

Assalamu Alaikum and a very good day to you all.

It is my distinct honor and privilege to address you today as the President of the Insurance Companies CAMLCO’s Association in Bangladesh (ICCAB). I want to begin by thanking each and every one of you for your unwavering dedication and commitment to upholding the integrity of our nation’s financial system. Your presence here reflects not only your professionalism but also your deep sense of responsibility in the shared mission of combating money laundering and terrorist financing.

As we are all aware, the financial sector globally—and indeed in Bangladesh—is facing unprecedented challenges when it comes to detecting and preventing financial crimes. The insurance sector, often seen as a secondary target, is increasingly being used as a potential channel for illicit financial flows. This reality demands that we, as Chief Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officers, remain vigilant, knowledgeable, and proactive.

The formation and activities of ICCAB come at a crucial time. Our association has been created to provide a platform for mutual collaboration, knowledge exchange, and capacity building. Together, we aim to enhance AML compliance standards across all insurance companies in Bangladesh and ensure that we remain aligned with the directives of the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU), the Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA), and global frameworks like the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

Our objective is not only to meet compliance obligations, but to set a benchmark for ethical business practices, transparency, and accountability within the insurance industry. By strengthening internal controls, promoting effective Suspicious Transaction Reporting, and fostering a culture of zero tolerance for financial crime, we can safeguard the trust of policyholders, investors, and the public at large.

In the coming months, ICCAB will focus on developing standardized AML policies, conducting regular training sessions, engaging with regulatory authorities, and fostering greater awareness across all levels of insurance operations. We encourage all CAMLCOs to participate actively, share challenges, and contribute to shaping practical and efficient AML solutions tailored to our industry.

Let me conclude by saying that the fight against money laundering is not just a regulatory requirement—it is a moral and national duty. Let us lead by example, and let ICCAB be a symbol of unity, integrity, and resilience.

Thank you all once again for your continued support and cooperation.
May our collective efforts bring lasting impact and contribute to a safer, stronger financial system for Bangladesh.

Thank you.
